The Exceptional Public Service Medal is one of the highest awards in the Agency and represents an acknowledgement of significant contributions to NASA's mission and purpose.  It is an award granted for exceptional contributions to the mission of NASA to anyone who was not a government employee when the service was performed.

“We are delighted to see Paul Ferkul recognized for his significant and seminal contributions to NASA,” said Bernie Seery, USRA's Senior Vice President, Technology R&D.

Dr. Carol Kory, USRA Director of Low Gravity Sciences, noted, “This is a well-deserved honor for Dr. Ferkul’s numerous research contributions, which are crucial for the safety of future astronauts.”

Paul will be recognized at the 2021 Agency Honor and Center Awards Ceremony this Spring.
