USRA’s Christopher Pestak Selected Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics

Columbia, MD—March 17, 2020. Universities Space Research Association’s Christopher Pestak, Program Director, Microgravity Sciences, was selected by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) to the Class of 2020 AIAA Fellows.

AIAA confers the distinction of Fellow upon individuals in recognition of their notable and valuable contributions to the arts, sciences or technology of aeronautics and astronautics.

Chris Pestak was recognized "For outstanding career contributions to national security and NASA spaceflight programs, sustained service to AIAA and the engineering profession, and sustained support of STEM education." He has been an active member of AIAA for the past 25 years at the local, regional and national levels.

“Chris’s selection to this prestigious group is a testament to his outstanding contributions to the field,” said Bernie Seery, Senior Vice President, Technology, at USRA. “It is heartwarming to see his work being recognized by the best minds in the industry and I congratulate him on this achievement.”

The induction ceremony for the new Fellows will take place on May 19, 2020. They will also be recognized on May 20, 2020 at the AIAA Aerospace Spotlight Awards Gala at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington DC.
