USRA Among Semifinalists in National Science Foundation's Engines Competition

Washington, DC--June 20, 2023.  The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) recently announced 34 semifinalists from 188 submissions for the first-ever NSF Regional Innovation Engines (NSF Engines) competition.

Among these distinguished semifinalists is the Universities Space Research Association (USRA)-led proposal entitled the “George Washington Carver (GWC) Science Park Accelerator and Regional Catalyst in Ohio (SPARC Ohio).”   SPARC Ohio will build upon the recently created George Washington Carver Science Park (GWCSP), which is under the leadership of Nanoracks and Voyager Space, to make Ohio the epicenter of the future, trillion-dollar, commercial space economy.

The SPARC Ohio Team is excited to work with the NSF’s Directorate for Technology, Innovation and Partnerships (TIP) in support of the highly esteemed Engines program, which promises to be transformational for the nation, and ensures that the U.S. remains competitive in key technology areas for decades to come.
