Revolutionizing Disaster Response and Resilience Using Space Technology: Dr. Miguel Roman's Media Visits

Columbia, Maryland--July 30, 2019. USRA’s Dr. Miguel Román, Director, Earth from Space Institute, recently visited several media outlets in New York City to discuss how the Earth from Space Institute (EfSI) is revolutionizing disaster response and resilience using space technology. Many of the visits generated a great deal of interest, including interest in the upcoming EfSI Symposium in October.

 Cheddar TV conducted a live interview with Miguel. (See below).  

Another interview was with the CBS affiliate in San Francisco--KPIX TV. Emily Turner, KPIX TV’s reporter was very interested in the topic particularly as it related to the earthquakes in California. The interview is now on Facebook and can be seen below.

KFI TV ‘s Trevor Gerdes from Los Angeles posted a writeup of Miguel’s interview and aired it. Coverage is available here.

Miguel also held “Meet and Greet” meetings including conversations with the producers of NBC Today Show, with Ars Technica, Scientific American, and Space.com, all of whom expressed a keen interest in the work of the EfSI and in the upcoming Symposium in October.
