The USRA Headquarters building has been LEED Silver certified

Columbia, Maryland, March 11, 2016 - USRA announces that its Headquarters building in Columbia, Md. has been certified as LEED Silver. LEED is an acronym for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ certification. It designates environmentally responsible—sometimes referred to as "green" or "sustainable"—commercial buildings designed, built and operated to optimally use the building location, minimize non-renewable energy use, reduce water consumption, while offering healthy settings in which to work and live.

To achieve this status, during the renovation process, USRA consciously chose sustainable products that included: water saving features, energy saving lights, local/regional materials, recycled materials and low-emitting materials (such as paint).
